Romantic wedding locations: Kooroomba Lavender Farm

kooroomba lavender field and vineyard mt alford

It really can’t get much more romantic than strolling through fields of lavender when it comes to wedding locations! I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Kooroomba Lavender Farm and Vineyards and can confirm: it’s just as amazing as the pictures. And yes, you will want to get married here!

For those of you that don’t know, my partner and I have relocated the Scenic Rim area (just outside of the Gold Coast, in what’s know as the Gold Coast Hinterland) and we have taken some time to explore our new neck of the woods. Kooroomba has been on my wish list for a little while now, so when the perfect sunny winter’s day came up, we knew we had to go for a little explore.

The lavender farm is located at Mount Alford, which is quite far inland and almost at the NSW border from QLD! To get there you will pass through Boonah, which I think is a cute little country town - lots of op-shops and some locally made eateries which look divine.

As you can see from the photos, the location is just stunning. Winter is the best time for lavender - the fields were in full bloom and there was a slight scent in the air that had me instantly zen. And wait til you see that chapel! Uniquely designed, I have never seen anything like it. I would describe this venue as simple and sophisticated. The reception area has an urban, modern feel and my favourite part was the huge open windows giving a 360 view of the farm.

The good news is too the location is not just for weddings, you can pop in for delectable delicacies for any occasion! The venue put me in touch with a lovely local magazine as well, Country Scene which was an excellent read to see what talent the Scenic Rim area holds. Looks like I’ve got a whole new pasture to explore!
