Meet the Maker
Creativity is in my blood, with a life long love affinity for fashion and design set into my heart from the moment my grandmother taught me to sew on her old Singer sewing machine.
I have spent the majority of my young life tirelessly honing my craft, leaving my North Queensland hometown to attend fashion college on the Gold Coast and make my dreams a reality. I landed my “dream job” while still studying, and got to learn from an amazing team of talented professionals in one of Australia’s top design houses. I worked my way up from the bottom, interning for free and hustling to pay the bills with a job on the side, to earning my way to an Accessories Designer role, gaining industry experience in pattern making, sewing, quality control and garment fitting techniques along the way.
I worked to build my love child “Lazy Girl Lingerie” since graduating college in 2016 while keeping my day job to support me along the way - a lot of late nights and a lot of coffee, that’s for sure! My dream was to “quit my day job” and make a living selling my designs, inspiring women to feel effortlessly sexy and confident through beautifully fitting lingerie, and now I am finally here. This is my third year in business and I am still as crazy in love as ever.
Goodness me, I haven’t even introduced myself yet… My name is Cassandra Pons and I am the soloprenuer behind all things Lazy Girl Lingerie - each and every order is handmade by my own two hands in my home studio. I also spend my days designing, pattern-making, quality checking, popping into my local Australia Post to post your parcels, running my website, and looking after social media. Oh, and I teach sewing workshops as well! You could say I am a busy lady, but I wouldn’t have it any other way as I am living my dream and I finish each day with a grateful heart that I get to do what I do.
When I'm not working, I'm a true lazy girl and love being at home. Some fun facts? I’m a Gilmore Girls addict, cappuccino lover, dog mum to Sage and Astrid. I once started a business at the age of 10 with my best friend selling drawings of bunnies. Naturally we called it the Bunny Business. I mediate every morning and do some yoga, I’m engaged to the love of my life Dillon who has been on this crazy journey with me the whole time. He has stood on one too many of my pins and somehow still loves me, so I’m pretty stoked with that. My best friend in the whole world is my Mum, she inspires everything that I do. I love mellow indie beats like Vera Blue, Meg Mac and Halsey. I'm on the cusp of Virgo-Libra so I get to read both horoscopes and pick what I like best, and definitely an old soul.
