Happy New Year my wonderful Lazy Girls! I hope that your Christmas break was filled with all the things you love. I closed up shop for ten days and it sure was fun to swim at the beach, hang with my pals and eat a whole lot of delicious food. However, I am keen as punch to get stuck into the brand new year with lots of goals and plans set in place for 2019.
That being said, I can’t go forward without a reflection of all the lovely things 2018 brought, can I? Read on for some of the highlights…
One of the most exciting things 2018 brought was the collaboration with Missy Noir and our Ekka Fashion Show in Brisbane. I was tickled pink to be able to work with Justene, and it brought lots of opportunities along our way, like the Brisbane and Melbourne Pop Up Shops! It’s true, together everyone achieves more and it was amazing to work with a likeminded business woman to reach more women with our message of celebrating and loving our bodies with lingerie. Here’s to another year with more adventures to come!
Can we just have a special mention for the Celebrating Women event at Wintergarden? These girls absolutely killed it on the runway and it was so special to see these looks come to life amongst a crowd of friends, family and our own lingerie communities! Lingerie as outerwear for life! That’s my motto anyway…
Okay, this was a cool little moment - Miss Laura Lavelle purchased a Alluna Lingerie Set. I was excited already at the thought of my designs being sent all the way to Ireland, then she let me know she was a burlesque dancer and was wearing my set on stage Swoooon! I could hardly contain my excitement, plus this fluffy robe is to die for.
I got confident enough to show my own face in front of the camera! It’s one thing for me to preach being sexy and confident in your own skin, but when it came to my own body, it feels like an entirely different issue. Getting comfortable behind the camera was a really hard step - like most women, I am so incredibly critical of myself. I loved the experience once I threw myself into it, and my girl Kirsten from Autumn Grace Photography was an absolute legend in making me feel at ease.
SALYSE Magazine feature - need I say anymore?! Utterly obsessed with these images and so humbled to have been featured in an issue.
So that is the highlights for the year gone by, what about the year to come? 2019 has me jazzed up and excited! I am shooting my new collection for Valentines this weekend - perfect for lovers and bad ass babes either way! Working on a new event with details to be released very soon. Working hard on offering diversity to my community, and being more sustainable in my practices. The list is endless! Let me know about your plans for the new year - do you have anything exciting on the cards? I think a big lesson I am taking forward with me is that life is short, and made to be enjoyed. Let me know if you agree!
