BEHIND THE SEAMS
The time has come that I finally can share some sneak peeks of a new mini collection with you, plus a little bit of behind the scenes information about what goes into the Lazy Girl design process.
I am a very visual person, so I find that my inspiration usually comes when I discover a fabric that I absolutely adore and know instantly what I will do with it. I then work through a process of drawing my design and working out the technicalities of the design. Will the fabrics and trims work together? Does this design flatter a variety of body types and sizes? Any considerations need to be worked out at this point, as a pretty picture is not enough - it needs to be turned into a functional and amazing quality garment.
Once I have analysed my design, I then commence the sample making process. This is all done in house in my little studio where I pattern make my design, sew the toile (sample) and continue the process of testing the pattern and making adjustments until it is perfect. Sampling the fit of my designs on as many body types as I can ensures an amazing and flattering fit for all. I really pride myself on the quality of my designs.
